INDUSTRIAL HERITAGE
In 1991 I started to illustrate the popularizing works of pre-industrial and industrial heritage from Museu de la Ciència i de la Tècnica de Catalunya and from all the museums of the same network which are scattered around the country.
Exciting job.
Textile mills, spinning mills, industrial estates, steams, copper and iron forges, Fountain or Francis turbines, hydraulic sawmills, antique cars, paper and flours mills... A world buried by time and which was necessary to recover as the story of our country. To recover this legacy, illustrate it and spread it, I had to do a researcher’s job: surfing hidden files, chatting with older people who had worked there, recovering oral memory, exchanging knowledge with the museums’ directors, surfing municipal and historical files... With the outcome of 24 published booklets. Everything coordinated by emeritus professor at the University of Barcelona, Magda Fernández.
